Presentation and Dinner with Gerhard Verdoorn
September 8, 2025 @ 5:45 pm - 8:00 pm

You are invited to attend the presentation by Gerhard Verdoorn followed by dinner at the Plett Country Club.
Vultures: God’s clowns
Gerhard will introduce all the vulture species of the world, both New World and Old World vultures and discuss their different characteristics and behaviour. There will be many photographs to show the similarities and differences between the different species. Their feeding behaviour and breeding behaviour will also be highlighted. One of the key elements to be discussed is their conservation status and the threats they are facing. I will also talk about Vulpro which is the world’s largest captive vulture breeding programme, the challenges it is facing and the successes it has had over the past few years.
